Tour L’Tavor is Habonim Dror Camp Tavor’s annual weekend bike ride. Starting at Foster Beach on the north side of Chicago, participants ride as a group 150 miles through Chicago, Northern Indiana, and Southwest Michigan arriving at Camp Tavor for second session Visitor’s day. Meals, snacks and lodging are provided along the way. All levels of cyclists are encouraged to join. The entire ride is three days long days but you are welcome to join on Saturday or even just Sunday for the last leg.
Riders of all skill levels are encouraged to join. There is always a group of speed-demons leading the charge, but there are also many moderate and more relaxed riders. No matter your skill, strength, or speed, there will be others for you to ride with. And our ever helpful volunteers will be there to assist if necessary. We have had riders ranging in ages from 17- to 73- years old.
All are welcome to meet up with Tour L’Tavor in Niles, MI for the Camp Tavor Community Dinner and Havdallah. Make sure to register beforehand. Dinner is open to all alumni, parents, family and friends of Camp Tavor. Kosher style dinner will be served buffet style. If you want to join the riders for dinner and need hotel accommodations sign up for the 2 day ride option, or feel free to reserve your own accommodations. We will be staying at the Comfort Inn in Niles.
Tour L’ Tavor relies on the generosity of many volunteers to help with transport, route/road assistance, and setting up. If you would like to volunteer please note that on your registration form and we will follow-up with you. Partial volunteers/riders are also encouraged if you only want to bike part of the ride.
